Introduction to the Institution
This institution is a temple founded by Monk Cheolgam during the reign of King Gyeongmun of Silla, who returned from China and saw the beauty of the mountains and rivers. The topography of the temple is such that there are two mountain peaks in front and behind, that is, twin peaks, and so it is called Ssangbongsa.
There are various cultural heritages inside the temple, such as Daeungjeon, Geukrakjeon, Cheolgamseonsa Tam, and Cheolgamseonsa Pagoda Monument, and it was designated as a Jeollanam-do monument in 2014.
