This project is a project where you work as a staff member at a guesthouse located in Hongdae for a certain period of time and receive accommodation.
Hongdae, where busking takes place everywhere, cute shops and young artists are hidden in every alley. Hongdae is a place where you can feel the sophistication even if you just walk around aimlessly. In addition, sweet desserts, appetizing snacks, and restaurants and cafes with a lot of style will fill your heart with a unique sensibility. Now, instead of a hasty trip, how about enjoying the freedom of Hongdae at your own leisure? Create your own new story at the center of culture, Hongdae!

Since guesthouses where you work as a staff member are operated for foreigners, it is a place where you can encounter various cultures and ideas in Korea. While you are working, become the owner of the guesthouse and interact with foreign friends with a warm heart. You will see another Seoul!
This is a quiet and comfortable guesthouse where you can escape the hustle and bustle of Hongdae for a while.
The owner, who has been traveling for a long time, has incorporated the regrets he felt during his time into the guesthouse, and you can feel the warm consideration for travelers everywhere. Also, as a young owner, he tries to think about the difficulties that young people of that age might feel together.
Main activities
- Since the guesthouse is mainly operated for foreigners traveling to Korea, you will work in an environment where you will have to use English to some extent.
- However, anyone who has a sense of responsibility, sincerity, and a positive mind as a host who welcomes foreign friends is okay!
- Check-in and check-out guidance/customer service/room cleaning/tour guide around the area/laundry, etc.
- Depending on the participant's will and ability, you can plan and operate the guesthouse's events (parties, one-day Seoul tours, etc.).
* The detailed activities may vary depending on the guesthouse situation.
■ Period: 8 weeks
■ Activity time: Total 20~24 hours / 1 week
- Morning activity 08:00~12:30 (4 hours, including 30 minutes for lunch)
- Afternoon activity 11:00~15:30 (4 hours, including 30 minutes for lunch)
- Evening activity 19:00~23:00 (4 hours)
* Activity times will be arranged according to the situation after a phone interview. After being arranged, you will work at the same time from the start to the end of the project without any changes.
* The rest of the time outside of activities during the day is free time, and you can do various activities such as traveling to nearby places or studying on days when you don't have work.
■ What is provided
- Accommodation during the participant period - Breakfast during the participant period
- Lunch/dinner ingredients during the participant period
- Chicken and beer party every Wednesday evening, pork belly party on Friday evening
* Accommodation is the staff room in the guesthouse or a guest room shared with guests.
* Lunch/dinner is not provided separately, but ingredients are provided. You can save money because you can cook according to your taste.
■ Working as a guesthouse staff and receiving accommodations
Many people long for a new life, but many give up due to reasons such as money, time, and fear. The gap year stay program allows you to work as a guesthouse staff and stay for a certain period of time. Participants who use their free time will have time to actively participate in various programs of their choice and reflect on themselves. Stay at Hongdae Guesthouse, which is full of stories of Bokjak Bokjak Seoul, and meet and talk with various foreign travelers!

Introduction of the organization
The guesthouse where participants will stay is located 5 minutes away from Hongik University Station, making it the perfect place to plan your own city trip.
After finishing your day, visit the cafes, parks, and workshops all over Hongdae to feel the vibrant atmosphere of Hongdae.
Participants will stay in a 4-6 person staff room or guest room. It is a place where you can comfortably finish your day and prepare for tomorrow with a large bed and a quiet atmosphere.
Unlike the noisy atmosphere outside, you can spend your own quiet time in the living room, and you can meet new people by interacting with foreign travelers through the chicken and beer party and pork belly party held on the rooftop.
4-6 person room / shared bathroom / meals provided / Wi-Fi provided
* We are raising a puppy in the guesthouse. It is not difficult to take care of the puppy because it is docile and follows people well, but please be careful when applying for the project if you have an animal allergy or are afraid of dogs.
